Build Your Own Boat Bench Seat

The vinyl all throughout the boat was pretty much shot so in my ultimate wisdom i decided to take on the project and redo the interior.

One of the most common types of boat seats is the bench seat a great seat for holding more than one person because it can come in a wide variety of sizes usually ranging in size from as small as 28 inches in length to as long as a 72 inch boat bench seat or even longer. Boat bench seats are an easy way to increase the amount of seating area in your boat and they also enable you to make the most of limited space. Bench seats are ideal for the boat as they can be used for sitting or sunbathing. The boat is an inboard outboard so there is a padded motor box in the back with a custom sized jump seat on each side of the motor.

Boat seats are generally constructed using treated plywood as this is a cheap and easy material to work with. They can be used to replace a storage area lid or the panels covering the in board motor cavity. Heck i sewed back in middle school what was that. A homemade boat can be made from fiberglass aluminum steel or wood. For the do it yourself boat owner this means seating for those friends and storage for those toys can be combined in a single unit where the seats have compartments below to store water toys and gear that would otherwise be underfoot when underway. The whole bench is 58 long. It calls for several 2x4s of various lengths for the legs trim and seat. Boats are fun but there s an old saying that they just make a big hole in the water where you put your money.
